What is SoulCollage®?
SoulCollage® is a creative and introspective process that involves making and interacting with a deck of personally meaningful collaged cards. Developed by Seena B. Frost in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it is both a creative outlet and a tool for self-discovery, healing, and inner guidance. SoulCollage® is not therapy, though it is therapeutic. SoulCollage® is not a religion, though there is a spiritual component. The practice of SoulCollage® does not rely on a third-party interpretation. The card-maker’s intuition knows what the card means, not someone else.
How It Works
Participants create SoulCollage® cards by cutting and pasting images from magazines, photos, or other printed materials onto 5"x8" cards. Each card represents different aspects of their inner world, such as personality traits, community members’ influence, archetypes, or connections to their body’s energy centers. Over time, the deck becomes a reflection of the creator’s unique life journey.
The Four Suits in a SoulCollage® Deck
Committee Suit – Represents personal parts of oneself (e.g., inner critic, nurturer, warrior).
Community Suit – Represents significant people, animals, or places that impact one’s life.
Companion Suit – Represents energies within the body, often symbolized by animals revealed through a guided meditation.
Council Suit – Represents larger-than-life archetypal forces and themes, such as the Seeker, the Healer, or the Shadow.
Using the Cards
Once cards are created, people use them for self-reflection through journaling, meditation, and guided readings. A key practice is the “I Am the One Who…” exercise, where one speaks from the perspective of a card to uncover insights.

SoulCollage® Open Studios
Online open studios occur on the fourth Sunday of every month from 5-7pm EST. Have all your card-making materials handy and a magazine or two and we’ll spend the time checking in and making cards. Some months we will also include time to read our cards while bearing witness to our fellow SoulCollagers as they, too, pose questions and use their SoulCollage® cards to look inward for answers. The fee for the monthly online Open Studios is $10. Register by email above.
In-person Open Studios will now take place quarterly at my office space in Cary on Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm Eastern Time. This longer time frame will allow for more card-making time, community building, and however else we want to spend our time. If your schedule allows, bring your lunch and we’ll follow up our open studio time by breaking bread together. The fee for the 3 hour in-person Open Studios is $25. Bring your card-making supplies or buy them from me for an additional cost and use my images and space. The 2025 dates for in-person Open Studio are February 15, April 5, June 14, and September 20. Registration is required.
